It doesn't really apply on the buses - you tend to just not sit in the seats reserved for a) c) and d). If in doubt, just sit upstairs.

Have struck a happy compromise on the new dodgy-door trains out of Victoria. Always go for the priority-to-the-disabled extra-legroom seats - but only in the furthermost carriages from the station concourse, working on the principle that if they can walk quarter of a mile to the front carriage then they ain't that disabled in the first place.

I used to say yes to all categories, before I moved to London three years ago. However, after a series of embarassing incidents on public transport where I would stand up for a lady, only for her to look at me like I had just physically assaulted her, I will have to say:
