Going on today it looks like another away win coming up, but we don't seem any better at home any ideas why?

Players are scared of letting their home fans down...

We need to spur them on... Equally they need to perform. Players should love playing at home...

I reckon the players can't seem to cope with the pressure that comes with our big attendances. A couple of home wins a row could change it though.

With today's result almost in the bag, we have scored more points on our travels - 19 points to 18, and have played one less game away from home.

So, is it the crowd pressure, playing in front of 25,000+ every game at home? Or are Gus's tactics more negative at home, thinking that by dominatinating possession, that we can secure the win that way?

Or have the away teams sussed us, and can play with more freedom, as any result at the Amex looks pretty good on their away record?

I personally think it's the latter. It seems that the away teams aren't scared of us anymore, and are quite happy to soak up the pressure, and take their chances on the counter-attack. Which was Watford did on Saturday night.

People set up against us more defensively at home. What CMS' goal scoring record of home vs. away? Maybe teams play too deep for him when we're at home so he can't get in behind.

Second to last paragraph, spot on.

As seen in the tactics used by Birmingham, Middlesbrough, Ipswich, etc they sit deep and give us little or no room to work in, especially in dangerous areas. We have also had a fair bit of misfortune at home with these defensive teams scoring with their first effort on goal which also usually happens to have been deflected.

However, despite this negative approach, we are still creating chances in the home games which can only be seen as a good thing (how many games did we play last season and fail to have a shot on target?)

Away from home, the home team (opposition) is expected to attack and therefore we have more space to work in and attack from because the opposition are going forward in greater numbers than they would if the game was at the Amex.

A bit of all of them I suspect no silver bullet it's more complicated than that.

The opposition sit back and let us punch ourselves out. Think we need to use the full width at home with two fast wingers, from the start.
