I seem to remember him running back and tackling on the edge of the box when an attacker had got past painter. Saying that he doesn't defend is a load of rubbish.

He did it once, I remember it happening too because I was so flabbergasted it had actually happened, surely you cannot possibly argue that because he did it once, he's therefore fit to start?

Sign a left back with pace that doesn't require a wideman to help him deal with a fast wide man and then you can get LuaLua back in the team.

Until that happens, Painter remains woefully exposed and you can't afford to have a man with very little concept of defending infront of him. It's exactly the same trouble Dan Harding had once Nathan Jones became a bit-part player in 2004-2005

During the slow build up Lua is rather static and is closely marked whereas Noone is constantly moving around and is earning his starting place,have to agree that Lua tackling is not the best and he does seem to go down too easy and referees will take note.
