Did we sign lua lua to sit it out on the bench???

Has looked slow, ball watches and is rather lightweight, and we all know about his final ball. He was a luxury player in the league below where the players were slower and he could excite the crowd, but realistically he's not 'the answer' right now because we do not need luxury players, Noone is far and away the better of the two, and I'd say Buckley is also ahead of him from what I've seen.

We signed him, once the season had started. It is up to him to force his way into the starting lineup. He has also spent a lot of time out of the game.

He signed just before the team went out to Portugal because he played out there. Commander's post is right, give him time.

Said at the start of the season that his alround game is poor and so far nothing changed. Yes, he can look great going forward but final ball has been poor, he has pace but he gives Painter no cover. At the moment you can't play these 2 together cause we'll be wide open on the left and this is a real problem at this level v better players and teams.

The anti- Lua Lua stuff on here is amongst the most stupid and that is obviously some accolade.

The bloke is a fantastic attacking threat and especially effective in the later stages of a match. If I was allowed to watch one of our current players on the ball over and over again it would be him without a shadow of a doubt. He can't do it everytime, of course, but about half the time he gets the ball he beats his man and sets off at high speed for a dangerous area from which to cross or shoot - thrilling to watch.

Last season I called him the most rawly exciting player I'd seen in the stripes - that remains the case. An inability to appreciate higher risk players and a dose of latent racism are the only explanations I can think of for the witch-hunt.

Hahaha, OK.

I don't think he's very good because he gets the ball then falls over a bit giving the ball away again and doesn't get back to defend his mistake. Is that okay or am I a racist?

Nut job.

lua lua is and will always be a FLAIR player and a bit of a luxury

if we're needing our wingers to defend then he won't get much of a look in unfortunately

All he needs is a couple of assists/goals and he will be flying again. When he goes, no one can stay with him and his left footed crosses are deadly, he just needs that extra 10% of his game back.

Can't believe people are writing him off this early..

Most of the time he falls over we win a free kick with the possibility of getting a cross into the area. He has got some great crosses in which haven't been converted because there's been no one to finish them off. He's still excellent as an impact sub especially coming on against tired full backs.

Racist and homophobic and sexist and frankly an all round hater of humanity, you probably pull the wings off of flies and drown puppies in your spare time. Bet bedroom isn't tidy either.

I think Poyet would love to start with Lualua but simply hasn't been able to because of Noone's form. As a result he appears to be sulking a bit and somewhat off the pace. I still think he has a lot to offer personally. Maybe he will be another Paul Brooker, poor up until xmas then superb in the second half of the season. I dare say Lualua's form will pick up as we get closer to January.

Craig Noone kept him out of the side.

I like Lua lua when he is buzzing. He has a change of direction , speed and a shot on him. Able to prise open deep defences (well, he done it once). He is a specialist though and to have more than one player of his type in the side is a luxury. Although a winger should be able to beat his man he may be lured into cul de sacs and lose the ball, and he sometimes loses it through carelessness. Also he can become isolated if we have not got an advantage in midfield.

Also, he needs time to get into the game, so sometimes when he comes on, he is not quite up to the pace and flow of the game. A valuable squad member and irreplaceable.

The big problem with KLL is he is useless at winning the ball back and in the last few games we have made a habit out of losing possession. Also, totally echo Paul Clarke's comments on SCR, we just don't move the ball forward quick enough, if we could improve in that respect then KLL will be able to do his stuff more effectively.

And lets not forget Buckley who in my opinion, will be the best of our 3 wingerts when fully fit !

This is happening less and less. I don't know if he is getting a reputation for going down too easily, or if refs think 'no one player can get fouled that much, he must be a bit of lightweight', but he isn't getting as many free-kicks. And all the while that Dicker is wasting them, what advatage is it to have him win them?

I said on here when we signed Buckley that Kaz will be used as an impact sub because Buckley is beyond class and Kaz has the pace to upset things in the last half hour.

I got flamed, but I was right.

Have to agree. Whilst I think Noone is absolutely brilliant, I feel Buckley has that little bit of extra class to his game. Just take his 2 goals against Donny for example. WOW

Anybody on here have any ideas when he is due back?

I feel that Will Buckley is more versatile and this is more useful, running from deep midfield and not and out and out wide man. He also has more stamina and defensive abilities. The first signs is that he will a more than adequate replacement for Elliott Bennett.

I spoke to him in Hurst last week and he said at least a couple of weeks.

I seem to remember him running back and tackling on the edge of the box when an attacker had got past painter. Saying that he doesn't defend is a load of rubbish.
