Chesterfield fan here (boo hiss - brown envelopes etc) just wondering how much Poyet had to spend in the transfer market to take you from mid table last season to champions this.

Can anybody provide a list of transfer fee's paid (if any) it's to settle a bit of a debate on our board.

p.s. got any more Craig Davies' you don't want

Team c/r HQ
Ankergren- free
Calderon- free
Greer- 250k
El-Abd- Youth Product
Elphick- Youth Product
Painter- free
Bennett- brought in by Slade for 200k
Dicker- brought in by Slade for free
Sparrow- free
Noone- 300k
Bridcutt- free
Kishishev- free
Murray- correction brought in by Wilkins for 300k
Barnes- undisclosed thought to be 60-100k

That's the core squad that got us promoted unless I've missed somebody out?
I make that Poyet only spent around 650k on the team that played regularly and got us up.
Obviously Bennett and Murray who contributed massively arrived pre-Poyet did command fees.
ALso we had loanees such as Chris Wood and Kazenga Lua Lua who would be very expensive signings for this division.

Murray was brought in by Wilkins. So Poyet only spent money on Barnes and Greer Pre-season, and Noone in January

No he was brought by Knight as Wilkins was not even advised

But bear in mind, all our signings are above-board and their salaries fully declared to the Inland Revenue.

We also made money by selling players such as Crofts to Norwich for 250k and Dickinson to Barnsley for 150k.

Yeah we could not keep up with them, in the spunking cash on players that wont win the league race.

Yep. And the last accounts for loss-making S'ton showed payroll costs of £12.2m. Brighton's normally about the £3m mark.

Emphasing the miracles performed by Knight-Bloom-Slade-Poyet.

The Amex changes so much.

We paid the price for the work of the crook Darren Brown, all behind us now as we look forward just like you to a rosy future in a brand new ground, thanks for Davies if only we'd got him on a two year deal, but Andy Whing was pants
