I noticed that. The cynic in me suggests that this is to stop banned users from snooping at what's going on. Surely not.

They don't seem to realise that it will also stop people joining. If you can't read a board to see if there is something of interest on there, you won't join to have your say. The place will get more and more quiet, if that is possible - which is a shame.
