Where does the exciting bit come in then? Suspect it's new pics of the expansion work and the like rather than a signing.

Sounds promising! Let the speculation begin - I'll go for Thierry Henry ripping up his New Yoik Red Bulls contract and rushing back to Sussex to fulfil a lifelong desire to play up front with CMS.

"Plenty of other news from around the club" will be a roundup of stuff from Football in the Community, the Commercial Department and so on.

All pleasant enough, but I think you're misrepresenting it by claiming they're heralding "exciting news"

So far all they have done is tell us about the 7 subs thing that was announced last week and put up a photo of the stadium expansion from a couple of days ago.

Depends what you call exciting.

A new pie would be exciting news right now.

I'm glad that isn't happening.

AITC Scheme Impresses Government
Posted on: Wed 06 Jun 2012

By Joel Essex

A team of Nick Clegg's special advisors become the latest government officials to leave Brighton impressed by the Amex Stadium and Albion in the Community's efforts to tackle local youth unemployment following a visit to the city last week.

The seven-strong delegation from the Deputy Prime Minister's office were in town to learn about a number of joint initiatives between AITC, JobCentre Plus and City College, which offer training, skills and employment opportunities to local unemployed 18-24-year-olds.

The officials were taken to the city centre to see City College Brighton and Hove's new City Skills & Jobs one-stop-shop on Queens Road for employment and training opportunities, before moving on to the Amex to join a number of local companies (including Brighton and Hove Jobs) and 18-24-year-old job seekers for the 'Earn to Learn' Apprentice Employment Fair organised by JobCentre Plus.

The scheme, aimed specifically at helping younger job seekers, is part of AITC's wider Want to Work initiative which is working with over 60 partner companies in Brighton and Hove and Sussex to offer unemployed people of all ages a range of work trials and permanent employment opportunities.

Alan Sanders, joint managing director of Albion in the Community said, "We were delighted that the ODPM were able to come to Brighton and the Amex to see for themselves how this partnership is helping deliver government priorities around youth unemployment at a local level.

"They were also able to see at first hand the important and positive role that this stadium is playing on a wide range of local educational and community projects."

City College's principal, Phil Frier, added, "It was extremely gratifying that the Deputy Prime Minister's office were so impressed by what they've heard about the collaborative work we've been doing here in Brighton to tackle youth unemployment that they wanted to come and see it in action.

"It means a lot to the college and our partners to get that kind of national recognition which just gives us the encouragement to keep building on what we've achieved already."

The Earn to Learn scheme aims to put into practice at a local level the Government's national Youth Contract initiative which aims to provide nearly half a million new employment opportunities over the next three years.

"Young people are facing tough times ahead, which is why the Deputy Prime Minister has prioritised giving intensive support to 16-24-year-olds," said Caleb Deeks, Head of the Deputy Prime Minister's Research team.

"Through the Youth Contract - a £1 billion package of support - more young people will get opportunities to earn or learn. To make it work, we've got to be innovative - here in Brighton, the new City Skills & Jobs Shop is a great example of the kind of local partnership the type we want to see all young people benefiting from."

Exciting news it doesnt say that. Maybe We have just received an extra 1.5 mill to spend on transfers thanks to Reading. Or maybe 3 mill for Gus or maybe Vicente played in a friendly and we won. Probably new pie flavour.

Maybe Lamb and mint is going to be the next flavour. Fingers crossed.
I like the sound of that, although lamb can be a bit fatty sometimes so I would expect only the select cuts to be used.

Or ocelot and albatross.
