Slightly hit & miss as usual, I thought.

But the Northern Irish woman with the gay son was hilarious.

"Have ye heard about my son? He's a gay man now?"

"Is that right? Well, would ye come in and look at my new tongue & groove in the kitchen, you will just DIE!"

I find it amazing that someone that is exceptionally unfunny can masquerade as a comedienne. Same old 'jokes' from many comedies of the past, disguised as new material.

The Catherine Tate Show makes me switch off!

I have to say I was verry dissapointed. After all the build up it didint live up to the hype. There was the usual funny suspects, and it was ok in parts, but I thought on the whole it was boring and predictable. What was that "I can do that" sketch all about. As a big CT fan myself I have to say that nothig will ever be better than the first two series.:nono:

Well I thought it was a pretty good first episode.

The Gran was on good form, Lauren working in Billy's Burgers was funny and the Irish gay man was very good. I also thought the "I Can Do That" translation sketch was brilliant.

The first couple of series had some lame characters like the dogtrainer woman, the loser woman with the husband on death row and the repetitive Doncaster Spinner character, so all in all last night was the same standard as before with good stuff and bad stuff.

"The word on the street is you're a gay man now"

"Yes, my son's a gay man now, what are you gonna do about it?"

"Do these turn ups work?"

 :lolol:

The bit where she said she could translate was funny. The rest was pretty much shite.

Why has nobody yet mentioned the absolute highlight of last nights show.....

In the last foul mouthed gran sketch, visiting Leslie Phillips in hospital. You knew it was going to happen, you were not disappointed, but his delivery of grans catch phrase was one of the funniest things in yonks

"What a fuckin' liberty"

Kinda like Little Britain a series too far.

Albeit I know Little Britain started on radio...

Fair play to Tate tho...she said this is the last one. I also believe she is actually a trained actress as opposed to comedienne.
