One of the great Albion nights and that's a BIG statement.

One thing I must do is congratulate Cardiff on the stewarding of the game. Greeted with a smile, kind words, it really was a warm welcome.

Half time allowed out of the ground for a fag and a beer and a chat with both stewards and the police.

Congratulations to Cardiff, the new ground is really good and the staff helped ensure a terrific night, helped by the score.

Happy Days.

Interesting how so many people I know have spoken about how pleasant the Cardiff stewards were. On a personal level I was allowed access to the wheely chair bit to see my father and brother at half time. He was seated in front of the Albion fans but it was sectioned off and at a different level with totally separate access. Normally in such situations I'm greeted by a hi-vis jobsworth who will not allow me to move to another section of the ground. The Cardiff guys were really helpful.

The stewards were very good.....amazing the difference it makes when they smile and greet you. Automatically makes you feel welcome and takes away any feelings of hostility you may have, straight away.

They made a point of informing anyone having their last ciggie before entering the stadium, that the gates would be opened at half time to pursue their 'habit'......and that 'smokers' would be told when the players come out for the 2nd half.

Also told supporters as they came into the stadium, that it was a 'sit anywhere you like' policy.......and not once were we told to sit down.

Top drawer...!

hope some of our stewards read this bit, on my 2 occasions to our lovely new home, donny and gills matches, the stewards i have encountered have been edgey and give stern looks whenever anyone stood up, at the gills match the grumpy looking one even told his fellow steward who took over from him in the second half, if that lot are still standing after 10 mins go and tell them to sit and if they dont get them ejected, why could'nt he do it himself ,as the gentlemen had been standing all the first half. after 10 mins said steward did just that , only to be told when we brought our season ticket we were told we could stand as we are the back row. steward walked away with tail between legs.

Agree that most of the stewards at the Amex seem ok and the guy at the top of WSU where we go to sit is always happy to give us a smile and a "hello", but there are a few outside, like the guy who was outside Dick's Bar last Tuesday, who could really do with going on a course showing you how to smile and not be so bloody surly!

He's a right miserable git. Maybe I just caught him on an off day, but he wasn't exactly over-worked there and I found that the stewards who were in the thick of it when we were all leaving seemed to a lot more cheerful.

It doesn't take much to just be pleasant and polite to people, I mean, we were all very happy so were never going to be a problem.

The steward standing by me looked like a slightly rough Linda Lusardi...with attitude.

Very nice though.

agree with all of this - friendliest and most helpful bunch you could imagine before during and even after the game wishing us good luck and a safe journey home. Fans were the same. Well done Cardiff!

These stewards are well worth a mention, smiles all round and when i was leaving got wished a safe journey home, much better than the usual neanderthal approach used by most clubs.

Can't really add to this except that I took a full coach load of supporters to Cardiff and everyone said how well treated they were.
Well done Cardiff City for and excellent night well organised, I do hope the people at Cardiff take the time to read these well deserved comments

Agree with all the above, Cardiff have got it all organised really well now with the separate parking right outside away end and all the coaches and mini-buses getting a police escort away nice and quickly after the game. Was it as easy for cars to get out???

Steward near me was tapping his foot to many of our songs! He looked like he was enjoying himself, in spite of his team being played off the pitch!

Nice to know they treat away fans better than their own. Telling Cardiff fans to sit down constantly, real pain in the ass! :lolol:

Hopefully we will get treated the same when we visit your place. Looking forward to it already :bigwave:

I'd be interested to know if you guys are always that quiet? You used to be proper rowdy at Ninian, and away from home make a right racket, so why so quiet at the new stadium? Are the singers dispersed around the stadium so you have no proper singing section or is there another reason? Not having a go at you/your support just wondering really as it seems a shame that you have lost that atmosphere with the move to a new stadium.

The majority of our fans dislike the CCS for atmosphere, the fans next to the away fans are being told to sit down or get banned for a few games, everyone is dispersed, the section where standing is tolerated and normally makes much more noise is the canton stand, which is the opposite end to away fans. I dont think the acoustics are very good in there either, the noise dont travel throughout the stadium very well. Take me back to Ninian Park anyway. Whats the atmosphere like at your ground?

Agree with all of the above with the exception of one point.

A PS3 in a football stadium is tragic.

Having said that if I had children and was taking them to the game I suppose I might think differently. Maybe
