Five door family vehicle. Boot big enough for dog
Not too slow
Not too french
£10-15kish but could go a bit more
Need to fit in comfortably four-five people for away football matches.

And where are the best places in Sussex to go for used cars these days?

I also owned a Mazda and think that is a great shout. Might want to go for Mazda 5 tho which Is like a Zafira style 7pax for room for dog.

THIS. Or the standard C-Max if you only travel with up to five, plus dog.

Depending on how fussy you are about age, one of the best places is Brooklands Cars in Lancing, which sells ex-Motability cars that are three years old. Not only were they the cheapest for a previous generation C-Max when I got one, but their cars have an immaculate service history (I guess because it is all taken care of by the scheme), most are low mileage (at three years old, mine had about 8,000 miles on the clock), and you wouldn't really be able to tell it apart from a 'standard' car. By which I mean you can't tell if they have been adapted in any way.

Defo worth having a look.

Audi A4 Avant diesel. Dull as dishwater but a reliable tank. I had one for 8 years, best car I ever owned but it was so dull and although there was nothing wrong with it I had to change it for an Alfa 159 Sportwagon which I love but would never recommend to anyone who doesn't have Alfa in their blood.

Or car of the year Skoda Yeti, horrendous looks but it didn't get car of the year award for being a shit car.
