1. Right click on the MSN emotion you would like to use.
2. Choose "Save Picture As" and save it on your PC.
3. Open an instant message window.
4. Click on the smiley emotion.
5. Choose "My custom emoticons" then click "Add".
6. Click "Find Image" then browse to the saved file.
7. Type a keyword shortcut for your new emotion.
8. Click OK! You're done!

May be this way.

haven't tried it yet though, down to the fact that my only friend is offline.......

I just googled it. I think I've used this way before, or something very close to it.
