My cackbadger sensors started twitching as soon as I saw the headline to this story on the Argus site today:

(ANGER AS FLOODLIGHTS GET THE GO-AHEAD)

http://www.theargus.co.uk/news/loca...57.0.anger_as_floodlights_get_the_goahead.php

And sure enough, it would seem us selfish MALES arn;t thinking of the CHILDREN
Struth. Is it like this EVERYWHERE, or is it just Sussex thats stuffed to the rafters with people who want to live in some kind of rustic, silent, 18th century timewarp ?

I think Brighton hockey club had a similar problem when they applied for planning permission for a club house and pitches at BHASVIC playing fields. Apparently the nimbys didn't realise that the floodlights for the pitches would be at low level and were complaining about 1950's style football floodlights casting light over the whole area. At least they got their planning permission for a sunken clubhouse much quicker than Falmer though

Thank you Mr Eye.
I felt comfortable and justified in utilising it within this context.

High up on the South Downs.
A nimby resident from Sussex once came
Saying new developments are always insane
Bright lights wake the kids all day and night
Cars, yobs and football have caused property blight
And a carbuncle on my arse also makes me complain.
