Thinking about it, if the site was big enough it would have been ideal as our new stadium got a huge multistory next door, close to city center, loads of pubs and restaurants in the marina.
My Grandfather played for them in the 1950's after leaving the Wembley Lions.
Ice Hockey was the most popular sport of the era, you couldn't get a ticket at the Sports Stadium for love nor money. Brighton and Wembley were the two biggest / most successful teams of the time, and the players were more famous than many film stars. I have been hoping for years that a new stadium would be built, fantastic.
So he is, I haven't looked at Trevor's site (he is a legend, he let me see his entire collection of Tigers memorabilia a while ago) for ages, he has added loads since then.
Cheers, I wasn't going to check.
Hope this Arena gets the go ahead, it would be fantastic.
Fantastic news. Watched Tigers many a time in the late 60's, both home and away. Outside of football it has to be one of the most exciting sports around. Used to get very physical. Can't believe there's not much of it on TV.
