Sadly ironic that he and the Harrier Jump Jets both died within a week of each other.

I was too young at the time of the Falklands to appreciate what was happening but I have since seen some of his coverage - the "..counted them all back in again" report is rightly seen as a classic piece of broadcast journalism. RIP Brian

Very sad..and worrying to me as I'm also 61!

Ralph Coates pegged out and he was only 64. :(

Name change to Danny-Man imminent then ?

RIP Brian
Remember him saying "Ive counted them all out, and iv'e counted them all back again"
Read a superb book by him about the Falklands conflict.

He was only on the celebratory Egg Heads newscasters team last week

so he hasnt lost the news then, the news has lost him.

An extremely clever nod to his near(ish) namesake there Mr S.

I always thought he was a highly accomplished correspondent & was only wondering what had happened to him a cuppla weeks ago. 61's no age these days is it?

Rest peacefully Mr H.
