Will remember him best from his Falklands War reporting, his death coming so soon after the Harriers were scrapped.

I was too young at the time of the Falklands to appreciate what was happening but I have since seen some of his coverage - the "..counted them all back in again" report is rightly seen as a classic piece of broadcast journalism. RIP Brian

Had a few beers with him on many occasions in The Old China Hand in Wanchi Hong Kong, he was the Hong Kong Correspondent for the BBC I was in the RAF there about 1981...

I always thought he was a highly accomplished correspondent & was only wondering what had happened to him a cuppla weeks ago. 61's no age these days is it?
