Bosnich given nine-month ban
Australian goalkeeper Mark Bosnich says he has been offered a chance to return to football - with Paul Merson's League One side Walsall.
Bosnich has been out for two years after being sacked by Chelsea and banned by the Football Association for nine months after failing a drug test.
He says Merson, who has battled against addictions to drink and gambling, has invited him to train with the Saddlers.
"It's something I'm thinking about. I'm ready to return," Bosnich told The Sun.
"Paul has spoken to my agent and said I can train with them. Previously I did not want to play a game, but now I have got the hunger back.
"I have been clean for two months but I know you can always slip up. I have changed and need a focus to make sure I never slip up again.
"Football will give me that."
