History.

I'm pretty sure that the Seagulls have never played in a European Competition (1984-5) season...


But, what teams that are not based in England or Wales have they played i.e. friendlies.

There must have been something. And if so were the games home or away? and the scores.

I seem to remember we played Real Mallorca in a friendly mid eighties over there but it may have been a dream.

it was 5-4 (to us) and flash walker scored 4 and football genius scored the other.

We were also 4-1 up at one point.

I'm sure we won a trophy in a pre-season tournament involving Inter Milan in the 80s. I remember seeing it on an open day at the Goldstone.

I have a two page program at home for a another visiting Dutch team from the late 70's or early 80's featuring louis van gall as a player.

Standard and Fc Liege..... pre season comp with ipswich too.... very dodgy I can tell you, the locals were right up for it.

Spartak Moscow at the Goldstone in the late 1970's.

In July 1983 we played in a four team tournament in Spain or Majorca. I'm pretty sure that we lost 1-0 (or possibly on pens) to one of the european giants (not Mallorca).

Real Madrid in this tournament in Majorca (friendly) 1983, I think, I read about it in the argus.

August 1983 in the Real Mallorca pre season tournament where we lost to Real Madrid 1-0, I wonder how much my programme is worth ?
August 1982 played in the PSV Eindhoven tournament with PSV and Ipswich.
Played in the 1983 Standard Liege tournament and many others around the early 80's.
Plus I'll never forget the 1979 tour of the USA.
