Get it from Tesco, they do 'King of Shaves' oil (bit pricey, only get 15ml, but lasts for ages) but the best is stuff called Cariad (also from Tesco and other aromatherapy shops, comes in a boring looking 50 ml plastic bottle for about £3). Just sprinkle 6-8 drops into your hand, rub it over your area to be shaved and away you go, it is incredible stuff. No mess, smells nicer, shaves closer, no red itching or burn and a lot cheaper than gel or foam.

If you've got anything more than a light beard (for instance a couple of days growth) I've found oil just clogs up the razor with stubbley bits, as you can't rinse the blades very well.
