I think that game was called World Cup.

But as for the best nothing beats this:

In a cave
Track and Field. Very very addictive game - how many hours we wasted playing that game I have no idea!

We also wasted hours playing Pole Position on the Atari. These were taken over by Dragons Lair, probably the first one where you took charge of a character in a mythical world.

Happy days

The sit-down table version of Galaxian in the Liverpool Arms, Haywards Heath. Only game I ever MASTERED all levels of.

I didn't know you used to frequent the Liverpool Arms Tom. Used to meet up with my mates there, prior to going out "on the Town" a good few years ago.

That was a good game. Was Jim the Landlord when you visited?

Sold terrible beer, if memory serves me well. Friary Meux and Long Life!

Well Golden Axe was made in 1989 so I guess that seals it for me. Many a ferry journey to France was spent playing it!
