My partner's cousin did the opening sequence to Goldeneye, and in fact all the Pierce Brosnan James Bond films. Daniel Kleinman for all you film buffs.

Prefer the simple opening title sequence to The Italian Job, with a Ferrari, winding mountain roads, and the mellow 'On Days Like These' sung by Matt Monro.

Catch me if you can had a shit title sequence IMHO. If you're going to count the crappy cartoon genre then surely Honey, I shrunk the kids should be there too.

:lolol:

I thought the start to Panic Room was superb, the words seemed to stand out from the screen.

Se7en is the best title sequence of all time for me, good choice.

I like the Bond ones. You can see nipples and camel feet sometimes.

I'd add Trainspotting to the list..."choose life". Marvellous.
And maybe Lock Stock. "Come on love, no good standing there like one o' clock half struck. Thats it, one foot in front of the other, your body will follow".

That lengthy single take at the start of Touch of Evil. Widely regarded as the best ever and still amazes me.

Some people do not have a full grip on the understanding of title sequences, Never mind if we extend it to best beginnings I would like to nominate Contact with the most awesome cinematography of travel from Earth to the outer reaches of the solar system. Watch it , it will blow you away and Close Encounters.

As it's become best beginnings rather than title sequences, I'd like to add:

The Player. The characters talk about the longest tracking shot in movie history during one that's actually longer.

Apocaclypse Now. The titles come at the end. So the entire movie is, technically, an opening sequnce.
