Bernie Ecclestone latest plans for scoring system for being crowned world champion are to award gold silver and bronze medals for the first 3 positions .
This will take away the points for the smaller teams and just put them in a catch up position his idea is to allow for more over taking in races to get these medals

yes and most proberly more crashes.

initial reaction without thinking it though:

PATHETIC!

This would mean the top 3/4 teams will be battling and all the others literally have NOTHING to race for all season long. By having points further down the Grid (8th is not low enough imo) it gives those lower drivers/teams something to shoot for. Also alot of Sponsorship money goes into teams depending on where they ended the previous championship in the teams standings so this would wreck that for the lower budget teams who have a shot of getting a few points.

Ecclestone seriously needs to f*** off and sharpish.

Utterly stupid idea. If he's concerned about people not fighting for position then make the gap in points between 1st and 2nd more (back to 4 points like it used to be rather than 2).

Stupidest idea yet from the pint sized mop head!
This is all because Massa won 1 more race than Hamilton this year, but lost the championship by a point (funnily enough, that extra win was the one the FIA gifted him in Belgium). So this daft medal idea tries to get the winner of the most races to win the championship. Ok, fair enough, but the idea of the championship over 16-17 races is outright speed as well as consitancy/reliability, as certain tracks favour certain cars/drivers, as it has always done. There were 7 different winners this year, and the championship went down to the last corner, what more do they want. If they want more overtaking, get rid of the pitstops and the front wings so cars can follow each other closely through corners.

Make it more interesting: About half an hour before each race, all the keys (or at least something identifiable) for all the cars should be put in a pot. The person who finished last in the previous race gets first pick following on to the person who won the last race gets last pick. Random drivers in random cars.

Make it a free for all - all drivers have to run 100 yards to the key pot then run back to the cars trying each key until they find the one that it fits and then start it and off they go

Sounds like Bernie's short time in football has seen him catch a rather nasty bout of Blatteritis.
