I know we all know that this is now, at best, a bad joke, but as if to illustrate it, tonight's late news round up for the south, on the night Crawley Town completed their latest giant killing, concentrated on the Paralympic Torch Relay.
Important, I agree, but Tony "Saints" Husband is reporting live from.... AYLESBURY.
No one in Aylesbury thinks they live in the south.
Aylesbury is 100 miles north of Brighton
Aylesbury is nearer to Wolverhampton than it is to its "local" TV studios in Southampton
But wait, the football results are in "on a big night of cup football", Reading, Oxford, MK Dons, blah blah
No, not Swindon winning at Premiershit Stoke, but
"and the really big result is Southampton who stormed to a 4-1 win at Stevenage"
Crawley weren't even on the caption.
