Azure win AMEX catering contract

A couple of thoughts. Firstly, I thought this had been announced ages ago.

Secondly, it says the 1901 restaurants will have a capacity of 2,500, i.e. a seat for every 1901 member. However, I very much doubt that more than say 20% of 1901 members will make full use of this area every match; I guess it will depend on price, etc. but what do 1901ers on here think?

I see it also says there will be a supporters restaurant; sounds interesting!

I received an email from ages ago from Jo Brooks who is in the Hospitality Sales at Azure when I approached the club about the hiring of function rooms. Maybe it was only just the finer details that needed finalised now with the contract signing?

In the supporters restaurant you get metal knives/forks to eat you pie and chips instead of plastic!

In my defence, I was left unsupervised.

But there's still going to be KFC, right? *said with a hint of desperation*

I hope the catering at Falmer will not serve up the normal 'shit in a tray' which you get at most grounds now, with food consisting of mechanically recovered/reclaimed meat in a pastry or those roll-overs

When we first went to the Walkers they had proper hog-roast baps which were great. I'm just hoping the club try and raise the bar a little, but considering the standard of food at the catering vans at Withdean, I doubt it.

so the restaurant has TEN TIMES the capacity of the supporters bar.

Insider suggested there will be Asian food on sale. Good news. I try and avoid eating at the football, but I would not be against a pot of noodles or a thai green curry on an evening match.

I will probably treat myself at the first game! After? It depends on the pricing structure! Not all of us 1901'ers are loaded or on corporate expenses. :(

Think this probably refers more to the point that there is a seat in the bar areas for every 1901er, I thought we were told that the area(s) would be divided into eating/drinking/socialising areas, adjustable on a match by match basis depending on bookings.

Dodge was saying that after the game all the concourses will be opened up and you can meet mates and have a drink together.....he also mentioned meeting up ion the restaurants and having a meal and then making your way to different parts of the ground where you sit, so I assume that will be like the hospitality stuff now.
