general speed of nsc seems to be sufferring a tad , is it just me or anyone else getting it........no avatars visible , half the smileys missing , what's going on dooooods...?

I would guess any slowness is caused by every page trying to find a whole load of files that don't exist on the server.

I'll fix the smilies tonight and might set EVERYONE to no avatar. people can then set themselves up again manually, meaning that no-one will have failed links to avatars files that are not there.
