Anyone else perplexed by Yahoo Mail's new inbox?

I'm talking about one with an orange background, which I didn't request. When I've read an email there is now no way back to the inbox without deleting it. Clicking the back button on Chrome just takes you back to the page before your inbox appeared. And they've now decided to drop the date from the last few days' emails

There are tabs and your inbox should be one of the tabs-it is on mine.

All the dates are there for me too-must be your settings or browser.
