I'm rather looking forward to it. Haven't seen them since the old Concorde (I think) back in the really early 90s.

I'll be interested to see if they're still as cool as f***...and if Noel Gallagher is still their roadie.

Yep I will be heading to the Concorde II. Saw them 3 or 4 times in the early 90's as well. She comes in the fall is one of my top tracks.

Were you at the event in May 1990 for them? I have to say I thought their stuff was a bit hit and miss, but Move is / was / tiswas a great song.

I was there. It was a few weeks after the Happy Mondays, if I recall correctly (could be wrong). Mondays gig was superb with Shaun chucking out spliffs from a sweetie jar and MC Buzz-B supporting.

My fave Inspirals tune is "this is how it feels to be lonely"

I saw Clint Boon do a little solo thing one lunchtime in Borders on Oxford St about 5 years ago. What a nice lunch that was. That, of course, was when i worked in child and animal pornography, so any music was a fine distraction to what lingered in the end-of-halfday mind.

well there's where you were going wrong. Never work with children and animals, especially if you're a porn star.

Couldn't remember the dates. It all kinda hazes into one especially with the rave/madchester scene then.

Ive been in the vacinity of him DJing a fair bit over the past 2 or 3 years. He attempts to 'liven things up by shouting 'Boon Army' and expecting people to chant it back.

Needless to say; less than a few people do.

Ah if i could find myself in such a hearty, or arsey, career, then maybe i would have. Instead, it was merely me looking at a man being raped by a badger or one chap buggered manfully by a less-than-interested dalmation or things happening to children i would not like to announce i spotted, and banning them from MSN. How rubbish.

I went to both of these. The aftershow party at the Zap (after the Happy Mondays) is all a very hazy memory!

Brilliant gig last night - I like the Concorde 2 as a venue.

All the best songs last night, Joe, Find Out Why, I want you, Dragging me down, come back tomorrow, she comes in the fall plus loads more. They finished with Saturn 5 which is a great live song!

The played for about an hour and 40 minutes so not bad.

Didnt see the first support, but the 2nd one Actress hands played some decent music but the singer was truly awful, out of tune, and the charisma of a bag of cement.

That's decent value. Two supports and a long set.

Normally it's a one support plus hourish set from the headline act, I find.

Its TREMENDOUS. I remember they did a set at the V Fest in 2003 and it was blissfully sunny and they banged that out as the final track...

Happy days

Yes it was better than usual. First band at 7.45 second at 8.30 and inspiral carpets from about 9.40 until about 11.20.

All the boy racers in Maderia Drive, poncing around trying to look hard as people came out the gig made me laugh. Sitting in you car with pathetic spoilers, wide wheels, with your stero on at full blast, wearing your hoodies still doesnt hide the fact that you still have acne and probably an asbo and will be driving home for mummy to tuck you up in bed!
