Group D
Cologne
Sunday, 11 June
Kick-off: 2000 BST
How to follow the game:
Live on BBC Radio Five Live & the BBC Sport website

Influential midfielder Deco is the only doubt for Portugal ahead of their group opener with Angola.

The Barcelona star injured his left foot after a clash with team-mate Costinha in training on Friday.

Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has indicated he will take a chance on Deco but will not name his team until just before kick-off on Sunday.

Angola have been weakened by the loss of defender Yamba Asha, suspended until August for a doping offence.

Angola (probable): Ricardo, Loco, Jamba, Kali, Delgado, Ze Kalanga, Andre, Figueiredo, Edson, Andre Titi Buengo, Akwa.

Portugal (probable): Ricardo, Miguel, Carvalho, Meira, Valente, Costinha, Maniche, Figo, Deco, Ronaldo, Pauleta.

Referee: Jorge Larrionda (Uruguay)

COME ON ANGOLA!!!

According to the tread i made about Group Games that we are looking forward to, the last time these to teasms played was a corker.
4 PLayers sent off for Angola and then abandonded after 70 minutes because an Angolian player got injured :lolol:

Very much doubt that it will not be that extreme tonight though :(

Influential midfielder Deco will sit out Portugal's opening World Cup match.

The Barcelona star injured his left foot after a clash with team-mate Costinha, who has been named among the substitutes, in training on Friday.

Angola, making their World Cup debut, have been weakened by the loss of defender Yamba Asha, suspended until August for a doping offence.

Coach Luis Oliveira Goncalves has opted to start with Mateus in attack instead of Benfica's Pedro Mantorras.

PRE-MATCH BUILD-UP
1936 BST: Angola coach Luis Oliveira Goncalves - AKA The Professor - is not afraid of making tough decisions. Striker Pedro Mantorras declared "I won't accept this lack of respect" when he was left on the bench at the African Cup of Nations earlier in the year. Five months on that is exactly where he finds himself starting the World Cup.

TEAM LINE-UPS
Angola: Joao Ricardo, Jamba, Kali, Loco, Delgado, Figueiredo, Macanga, Mateus, Mendonca, Ze Kalanga, Akwa.
Subs: Lama, Airosa, Lebo-Lebo, Miloy, Mantorras, Edson, Rui Marques, Flavio, Love, Buengo, Mario, Marco.

Portugal: Ricardo, Meira, Miguel, Nuno Valente, Ricardo Carvalho, Petit, Tiago, Figo, Ronaldo, Pauleta, Simao.
Subs: Quim, Paulo Ferreira, Caneira, Ricardo Costa, Costinha, Viana, Boa Morte, Maniche, Nuno Gomes, Paulo Santos, Postiga, Deco.

Referee: Jorge Larrionda (Uruguay).

Almost a goal after 12 seconds...would've been the quickest goal ever.
