so what are the best bars, pubs, clubs to visit in this fine city? I'm on a stag do this weekend and thought a bit of research might stand us in good sted.......

any advice? (apart from the obvious - "wear a condom!")

think there are loadsa threads on this mate if you do a search.

Leidschplien is where all the bars etc are.

Be very careful of the black dudes round the red light area as they are quick fingered when it comes to your wallets etc.

Loads of good bars - most stag parties and up around red light district - suprise suprise! This weekend is also Gay Pride weekend - actually a good laugh.

Yeh. Forty Euros to get in for an hour and as much as you can drink. You may also get a fanny written postcard!!

I went to amsterdam in march, had a quality time but i cant remember any names of the bars though.

One tip, be carefull of the people around the central station who offer to take you to your hotel, etc... and also people asking you for money, dont talk to them or they wont leave you alone and if you need to escape just dive into a bar and they will piss off.

Amsters, known by all matelots as a cracking run ashore.
Favourite past time has to be sitting in the Jolly Sailor on canal st betting on how long a punter takes to re-appear from a liason with a brass after the curtains close.
That & eating Bananas from a lady's front bottom in the Banana Bar.
Oh & how can I forget the stripper in the Casa Rosso who breathes fire from her minge!!
