This is a classic example of the ignorance of the Computer industry. They seem to think that UK time is called "GMT", regardless of the season.

These are the same idiots who failed to notice that the 21st century was likely to kick in shortly after 31 December 1999.

Being pedantic, it was the year 2000 that kicked in then. The 21st century didn't kick in until a year or so later.

The idea is that the board is left set to GMT and every time the clocks change each user goes into their CP and adjusts their timezone.

Most people won't realise this and/or can't be arsed so I just bumped the time on the board. But the literal remains the same, ie GMT.

nope, 2000 is the start of the centuary. Numbers start at 0, not 1, otherwise nothing less than one can exist and you open a whole can of philosphical worms. Just because some doughnut in the dark ages didnt get this, doesnt mean we have to live in ignorance for the rest of eternity.
