I'm not one who ever goes along with hype around things like films or bands but there is no doubt the Arctic Monkeys are f***ing BRILLIANT!

The best album I bought this year was American Idiot, it isn't new of course though.

Meant to call the thread "compilation of best tracks of the year", or something like that, with a focus on songs rather than albums, but had a few in The Napier at lunch time...

Album wise, my favourites are:

The Warning - Hot Chip

Not a great year for new albums IMO, especially compared to 2005 which I thought was outstanding.

My favourite album of 2006: Easystar All-Stars - Radiodread. By a country mile.
