Notable long players this year were from Mystery Jets (21), Metallica (Death Magnetic), Hot Chip (Made in the Dark), Of Montreal (Skeletal Lamping), Nick Cave (Dig, Lazarus Dig!!!), Luciano's Fabric mix-CD and Don Cabellero (Punkgasm) but the winner by a long chalk is...........

Neon Neon with Stainless Style.

What's yours?

Wasn't Dig Lazurus Dig 2007?

Nothing's really blown me away this year. Lot's of stuff that's alright, little to blow your mind. Vampire Weekend was good, yet forgettable. Friendly Fires and Foals were both great in places. I can't really think of anything!

The nominations from the Dover household are.

Seasick Steve...I Started Out With Nothing and I still Got Most of It Left
Duffy...Rockferry
Queen & Paul Rogers...The Cosmos Rocks
Black Crowes...Warpaint

Being a recent convert to Nick Cave I enjoyed "Dig Lazarus Dig" whatever year it came out.

Also enjoyed albums from Duffy, Seasick Steve, The Hold Steady and Drive-By Truckers. Currently enjoying listening to "The '59 Sound" by Gaslight Anthem.

...And the winner for me (just) out of that lot and more is.

"Rockferry" by Duffy.

It's not out until next Monday.

Take That - The Circus

GUARANTEED TO BE A CLASSIC:clap2:

How do you know if you haven't heard it? Another reason why your music opinion cannot be taken seriously!

Personally I've enjoyed:

Santogold - Santogold
Metallica - Death Magnetic
Slipknot - All Hope Is Gone
Metros - More Money, Less Grief

Quite surprised no one has mentioned the Glasvegas album yet? Not my bag but know allot of people who have been raving about it.

Just checked and it was March. Foals is a good call. Great live band as well.

Santogold is another great album....I forgot that one. I've yet to hear the Glasvegas album. I really should get round to listening to it.

The Ting Tings - We Started Nothing was a jolly little CD. The version I bought was definitely released this year.

Infadels - Universe in reverse.

Glasvegas' album was average at best and massively overhyped.

'Daddy's Gone'? Yeah, he probably got fed up with your moaning, you misersable Weegie bugger!

Bloc Party - Intimacy or Late of the Pier - Fantasy Black Channel.

I bloody love the MGMT singles but the album (bar one or two album tracks) was a let down imo.
