Brighton & Hove Albion Supporters’ Club - Formal Notice of Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting of the Brighton & Hove Albion Supporters’ Club will be held on Thursday 19th September 2024, at The Barn, Swan Inn, Middle Street, Falmer, Brighton, BN1 9PD commencing at 7:30pm sharp. The kitchen at The Swan is open until 6.30pm and drinks will be available from the bar throughout.

The meeting is open to BHASC members only. However, everyone is very welcome to join online at https://bhasc.com/wp/membership/ The cost is just £5 for the season

Paul Barber Albion’s CEO and Vice Chairman will be our guest speaker for the evening.

Business to be decided/debated/voted

  • Minutes of the 2023 AGM
  • Appointment of Officers & Committee Members:- Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Secretary, EDI Officer (subject to AGM approval) & General Committee Members
  • Approval of the Accounts 2023/24.
  • Officers’ reports & questions.
  • Membership Fees.
  • Any motions or proposed changes to rules.
  • Any other business.
  • Sarah Watts Trophy presentation (previously known as The Merit Award)
Any nominations for the above positions mentioned, any motions (which, if approved by the AGM, are binding on the Supporters’ Club) and any proposed changes to rules should be with Brian Gillingham secretary@bhasc.com no later than Thursday 12th September 2024 so that a formal agenda can be compiled and available prior to the AGM.

All committee posts are up for election:

Chair –
responsible for running meetings and being figurehead of the BHASC
Vice Chair – CURRENTLY VACANT– to deputise for the Chair as required
Secretary – arranges meetings, takes minutes and circulates to the Committee
Membership Secretary – responsible for keeping records of the membership
Treasurer – responsible for keeping accounts and preparing for audit.
Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Officer – (subject to AGM approval) responsible for matters relating to EDI & developing /fostering relationships with relevant parties and organisations.
General Committee Members

We don’t want to exclude anyone who is interested, and whilst some of these roles could be carried out from anywhere, ideally committee members should be based in Sussex. This is because we meet every couple of months either lunchtimes, afternoons or evenings at various locations in the County. If you would like to know more, contact BHASC through www.bhasc.com


Location & Travel

The Swan Inn is situated in the northern half of Falmer Village.
Travelling via road take the slip road off the A27 Falmer junction, (by the Amex Stadium) & follow to “Falmer North”. Turn right into Mill Street & then first right into Park Street. The Swan Inn is at the bottom of the road with car park & off street parking.
Travelling via bus from Brighton or Lewes catch 28 or 29 services and alight at Falmer Village bus stop, a brief walk to The Swan (over the footbridge if travelling from Lewes)
Travelling via train alight at Falmer Station & it is a 15 minute walk to Swan Inn via the pedestrian subway by station and the hill to the village.
