I hate to admit it, but I travel from Woodingdean to Sunbury every day from about 5.40 until 6.50, so listen to Southern Counties Radio, mainly for the excellent traffic news which covers all of my journey on the A23, M23, M25 and M3.

I've just been looking on their website (wondered if it was them) but can't see any story there.

There was an annual meeting of the Football Supporters Federation over the week-end, but their web-site hasn't been updated yet with any outcome. Also, couldn't find anything on the Argus web-site.

Just spoken to John Lees of SCR who told me that Liz gave him the news on what has happened. The FSF had a Parliament at Walsall over the weekend, and all of the league clubs represented there, which also includes non-league, voted Albion fans as the best.
Perhaps someone could give Liz a ring, and post the full story on here.

I heard Liz and John this morning also. I am trying to see if I can find anything on any news feed anywhere

It doesn't mention the fans vote but you will find an Albion shirt at the bottom of this report.

Blimey, the first picture I saw was someone else I knew, John Reid from QPR. He wrote an excellent booklet on football clubs and big business a few years back.

Not sure about the item on the ending of discrimatory allocation of tickets for away supporters. Does that mean that a club should offer the same number of tickets to home fans as away? That would make matters even worse at Withdean and surely would mean a reduction in attendances.

If it doesn't mean that, what the hell does it mean? Perhaps Fran could enlighten us.

Just heard on radio that Albion fans have been voted the best in England by 'fellow supporters' (?). I've not seen or heard any news over the week-end, so can anyone throw some light on this?

Heard this on SCR this morning. BHA Supporters praised for the ongoing Falmer lobby and all the help given to other clubs in crisis.

Well done to everyone who has done there bit.

Promotion to Div1, now this all we need is a Yes to Falmer and it will have been one hell of a season

I didn't go to Walsall,so I'm afraid I can't update. I'll pass on what I hear.

Perhaps someone could give Liz a ring, and post the full story on here.

Liz reports as follows:

"Brighton
& Hove Albion Supporters Club" were presented with a framed 'plaque'.
It is called the "FSF Services to Supporters Award" (won last season by
York City). Basically it recognises that, whilst Brighton as a football
club has suffered extreme difficulties over the last 8 years, their fans
have never baulked at helping other clubs in trouble during that time.
The help was in the form of petitions, collections
and advice both collectively and individually. Clubs include:
Chester, Doncaster, Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Hull City, Bury, Bradford,
Swansea, Barnet, Darlington, Newcastle, Wrexham, Hartlepool, Carlisle, Cambridge, Charlton, Notts County, Oldham, AFC - and
Wimbledon initially before they moved, and York City.

We must stress that when we accepted the award, it was accepted on
behalf of ALL Brighton fans, not just the Supporters Club, as we fully
recognise that without everyone else, our name would not have been put
forward. As we have always said, Brighton & Hove Albion in whatever
guise you want to use it, is a TEAM, and the best in the country? Yes,
of course we are!

The introduction of www.ClubsInCrisis.com was mentioned as being an important tool for all clubs to use - again, started by BHASC.

So, the moral of the story is - join BHA Supporters Club, and/or FSF
(individuals can join too, and we will be more than happy to send out
application forms if they so wish), so that everyone in football can
have their say. Next year's Parliament will be in the West Country,
possibly Bristol area and, as usual, will probably be the first weekend
in June depending on International fixtures!
