From Argus started the works at shoreham/lancing today and caused problems. Appreciate it looks like they finish around 4pm but may stillc ause problems getting to Ipswich game tomorrow night from worthing direction.
"Drivers reported nightmare delays on the A27 this afternoon on the first day of a major roadworks project.
Many have been stuck in queues on the A27 between Lancing and Shoreham due to lane closures.
Crews moved in this morning to start a three-month project to improve drainage on the stretch of road and stopped work at 3:30pm when the lane was reopened.
The disruption is set to continue until at least Friday with further lane closures planned.
On the eastbound A27 there will be a lane closure between Manor Road roundabout and 200m past Coombes Road from 9.30am to 4pm for the rest of the week.
On the westbound A27 there will be a lane closure from Old Shoreham Road to Manor Road roundabout from 9am to 3.30pm for the rest of the week"
