Why does someone eventually go to the Doctors with a foot like that? Did it happen over night? Were they hoping for it to get better??

It looks like a bloody Ram's horn! Open toed sandal would be the only solution. I can't imagine you could get the flip flop on as there is no getting between the big and index toe.

Some people can't bend over when they get old.
They need someone else to do their toenails for them.
If they're too shy to ask, I guess the nails just grow & grow.

Would be interested to see how those nails get chopped. One of those dremmel whizzcutters perhaps?
