I want to create a compliation CD of 80s rock tracks. I just wondered if anyone on here had any suggestion of good tracks to feature on the CD. Obviously I've got loads I'm contemplating, but having other peoples viewpoint helps open it up a bit
Here i go again...Whitesnake
Animal.................Leppard
Just like living in paradise.....David Lee Roth
Welcome to the jungle.........GnR
Where the streets have no name.....U2
Crazy Nights...........Kiss
Assassing........Marillion
Start the thing with
Into the Arena - MSG Great storming instrumental guitar to kick it off.
end it with would I lie too you by Whitesnake.
Just so it ends with To get in your pants.
other tracks?
Since you been gone Rainbow
Boneyard - Little Angels
Hey operator - Coney Hatch
Blackheath - Demon (Sing it everytime I go too the garden centre in err blackheath, # Blackheath nothing grows on here!
Here I go Again - Whitesnake
Doctor Doctor - UFO
Juke Box Hero - Foreigner
Night Games - Graham Bonet
Holy Diver - Dio
Heat of the Moment - Asia
But if you limit yourself too the 80's you'll miss out on things like Smokin' in the Boys room - Brownsville Station and loads of other crackin tunes.
Skid Row have done some quality stuff but more 90's.
Van Halen - Jump
Motley Crew - Girls Girls Girls
Cutting Crew - 'It Just Crawled Up My Arse and Died' (or something like that!)
Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms (for a bit of mellow)
Faith No More - Epic
Sisters of Mercy - Temple Of Love
Poison - Every Rose has its Thorn
MeatLoaf - Bad Attitude
GnR - Move to the City
Aerosmith - Mama Kin
Queen - We Will Rock You
Status Quo - Caroline
Jim Steinmann - Bad for Good
Fireflameboun) - Arthur Brown
I'm sure there are dozens of Now That's What I Call The Best 80s Drive Time Rock Power Ballad Albums In The World Ever Ever Ever Part VII you could take inspiration from.
Or failing that, buy
Personally I'd say Rainbow: Since You've Been Gone would be a good starting point, and a bit of Jump by Van Halen.
Jump reminds me of Crabtree, who I saw dancing around merrily when Bristol City stuck it on just after half time at Ashton Gate
