Yes. I start my day with a coffee. To be honest, I don’t feel the need for coffee in the afternoon….it’s more the need to have break which I find easier to achieve with the lure of a piece of cake and a coffee. Otherwise I’d just push on.
That said, I’m sure the caffeine and sugar rush helps...
Now this is true. That said,I have always loved cake and coffee in the afternoon, even when I was living in the UK. It fits my work day routine. I'm normally a bit frazzled by 3pm and a cake and caffein infused pause helps with the final push through to 5pm.
Coffee and cake, especially in the afternoon, is a major part of my world. 7.50 is about the going rate in most cafes, both chain and hipster, these days.
I wonder if there’s been any analysis of different catering models and profit? Whilst better qualify food served by competent staff will be a higher overhead maybe it will result in more people being served and more people wanting to buy and in turn more profit?
