As posted above, there is a security angle as well. These tickets will be like gold dust and I think it’s only fair the club do as much as possible to ensure they are used by the person who bought them.
Maybe the club should ask all supporters to collect tickets from the ground; this all resolve this issue and also maybe address the issue of people buying tickets then not using them as they can’t get time off work, flights or hotels.
To me it seems unworkable. The figures will need weekly updates and then there‘s the grief the club will get when someone books a flight and accommodation only to find out they’re not in the tier they thought.
I think the current system is fairest.
I have no doubt the games will sell out, but where I do have doubt is at what tier; European away games are way more cost and time expensive than domestic fixtures. Even the most loyal of fans might not have the money or family/work circumstances
1) it’s very fluid as points can be added weekly.
2) Depends on the opponents ground size.
If the club did release rankings I can only imagine the hassle when someone who doesn’t make the cut says “but you said I was 1000th”
I guess we‘re looking at similar points to those needed at Brentford? If you could get a Brentford ticket you’ll probably be able to get one for Europe
From memory you get an allocation for your new season ticket plus keep a proportion of the points accumulated last season. This should keep you in the same tier. If there’s a big churn of season tickets some might even move up a tier.
Maybe someone can dig out the derivation?
