No it wouldn't. Others are perfectly able to go by coach or car. Or perhaps someone who lives near or in the "away" town and suddenly finds they are free. It's a terrific idea, train strike or no, giving a second chance to non-super fans who can't all be logging into the ticket system at 8.59...

I agree an away exchange would be great. The technical challenge would be only opening it to people in the correct points band. That should be reasonably simple with any good software package though. All the time there's the prospect of train strikes I actually think an exchange is an urgent...

I don't know if mine will be sent or have to be collected but otherwise I'm in the same boat. I won't be going unless the train strike is miraculously called off.

Very kind. I have a full driving licence but last used it 10 years ago. Doubt I'd make Gatwick before some fiery death occurred, and I like using the train from an ecological POV* anyway. *and obviously I can have a drink......

Though I'm in favour of this in general, I have Wolves tickets which I won't be using now thanks to the rail strike. Would be pretty annoying if I got a pick up and failed to show and got a black mark for that when I don't drive and my son gets sick in coaches.
