We have had 6 shocking ing seasons and have not spent cash since Strachey blew millions on jocks, Scott macdonalds and the like on 27k a week . The first time we do we have brighton having a go. Yes we're spending but our wage bill is a fraction of what it was 4 years ago. Is most likely less...
Blah blah blah, you have beaten us on attendances for 4 years out of 25/30/40 years? And are now massive? Tickets mean **** all, a season in the premiership is 10 years gate reciepts. I'd rather have memories of seeing Boro in the Olympic stadium I'm Rome or at a European cup final than talk...
The ground is too big for us, full stop. We are the most deprived area in england and our attendances reflect that. A £10 a ticket offer on a Friday night on sky produces a crowd of over 28k and most boxing days we get around that also. Give Boro good football and the crowds will be there
Well with financial fair play brighton keep going on about they will never progress. Historically our attendances have fluctuated but are Im the top 20 in england. Give us good football and we will go above 25k attendances and in the premier league up to 30k. We had a 2 year waiting list in 1997...
That might be the case but when was the last time you produced a england international playing for your club or played top flight football. Or had a champions league winner play for your club or a World Cup winner. Or play in a european final or win a domestic cup or qualify for uefa cup through...
We also spent 50 million on the 5* hotel and spa facilities and the second longest golf course in Europe and ours was built in 1998. Come the mid 00's we had more football players playing league football than any other team in the uk.
And also produced england internationals and we played a team in the premiership bar 1 player all born within 30 miles of the training ground. No other academy has done that in 30 years.
Have you seen our training facilities. They are in the top ten in the uk. Steve gibsons main aim is to get players to see our facilities and they will sign. They are second to none in this league, add the 5* hotel (only one in the north east) and the 2nd longest golf course in Europe. 1st class...
I do understand this but also believe the reason Gibson spent 50m on the hotel complex and golf course was to offset our income to spend more.

Was showing we don't have some random foreigner in charge and someone who cares about the club. Same thing that has happened to us as is brighton now, new stadium, big crowds. When we got relegated from the premier league late 90's, we added another 5k extra seats and sold out 35k fans weekly...
Steve Gibson was born in a council house on Teesside, stood on the terraces as a kid, borrowed £1k of his father to start a company and is now runs a multimillion pound company. By his early 20's he brought together a consortium in 1986 and saved the club folding and we were a hour away of...
Where has the 3m come from a northern echo journalist (which isn't our local paper). As it states in our local paper the evening gazette today. The deal is 1.5 million potentionally rising to 2m with add ons. Butterfield is not part of the deal but is travelling in a seperate deal to...
Boro fan here in peace. Look up rockcliffe hall and golf course at middlesbrough trIning ground. Steve Gibson has put in 50 million into this development for the football club over the last 7 years. 5 star hotel and spa facilities and the 2nd longest golf course in Europe. In 2009 he stated this...
