The rivalry is not a natural one that comes from how close the teams are,both teams had rivals before this one and a lot of palace fans still view Charlton as our rivals. I always think it was more of an Alison v Mullery rivalry that during the 70s was just a reason for a scrap and caries on...

As I said, these kids can be super at 16 and then just not progress, that’s why we have professional coaches at different ages to see who is going to make it and who isn’t.

I think every fan of every club hopes that players coming from the youth or academy will be great players, I mean how many wonder kids have teams had when they are 15 only to disappear by the time they are 20.

I also believe his dad was a palace fan who unfortunately died just as he was signed for palace as a kid..it was in the sky documentary and produced a tear or two. So yes we would like him to succeed. ( I hope I have the correct keeper there )
