It was £20, back in 2002:-
I honestly can't see much difference between what the Albion offered over 20 years ago, and what Dundee United are offering today.
By the way, Krispies is pictured in the programme I've linked to, on page 9.
Last season in the PL fixture at Villa we started with four former Albion scholars: Dunk, Hinshelwood, March and Ferguson.
It happened a few times in 2022-23 with Sanchez, Dunk, March and Ferguson.
And twice in 2020-21 we started PL matches with five former scholars (the home games against...
Very good 5-1 win for the U-18s at home to WBA today.
Two goals for sub Tyler Silsby plus efforts from Layth Gulzar, Shane Nti (his 3rd of the season) and Nehemiah Oriola (his 5th of the season).
1st-year scholar Younes Ibrahim made his debut as a substitute.
That Hull game was actually on a Tuesday night (yes, I was there too).
It was game 4 in a club record-breaking five successive away league victories (that also included the rain-sodden 1-0 win at Barnet).
Don't think I've seen anything of Owusu in action before as he hadn't featured for the U-21s before this season. Presumably Albion had their doubts about him because he was only offered a third scholar year at the end of 2023-24 (rather than a full professional contract).
That was a VERY well worked goal - starting from a first-time touch from Mackley in his own half. Run from Bashir, exquisite touch from Flower to evade his marker and setting up Peupion for a very good finish.
I noticed the other day that Wolves had released four of their U-21s (the announcement was made on September 6 but it's possible their contracts were cancelled prior to the end of the transfer window). At least three of them signed two-year contracts just last summer. One of them has joined...
Would love to know why Peupion, Turns and Samuels are still here (rather than being out on loan). I wonder if nobody wanted them?
They aren't going to benefit from U-21 football this season (having already spent time out on EFL loans) and I can't imagine they are going to get much (if any)...
