Mr John Prescott,
Deputy Prime Minister

Dear Mr Prescott,
I am writing concerning the Public Inquiry into a stadium at Falmer, Brighton, which you are currently overseeing.
I would like to highlight three important issues that appear to have been totally (and...
I got a debit card picked out my pocket years ago. Reported it and got the money back (eventually), but the statement made interesting reading. They carefully spent just under £50 each time (the limit without further authorisation), and halfway through their shopping spree paid for lunch at a...
You should ALWAYS take a sell-on clause, you never know what's going to happen, and we've missed out so many times through not having one.
And I don't think it was a case of £200k OR a sell-on clause. I think Dick would have taken every penny of cash that was offered. Happy to be corrected, but...
I saw Bobby play on Saturday, for the customary 15 minutes at the end. Postiga was woeful all game, not least in constantly standing on the left wing miles offside with his arm raised in a 'pass me the ball' manner. You're offside, you nob.
Bobby came on and spent most of the time on the right...
Bastard - there were never enough car parking spaces to go round!
I can place your flat too, thinking about it there's two curry places aren't there - I meant the one on Constitution Street, round the corner from the one on Queen Charlotte Street. Still, we might have been near neighbours then...
Jesus mate, where do you live? I used to live in Flat 22, 19 Johns Place - the big building (Bond 77) in the courtyard behind and above the curry place, you get into it from the other side (off Wellington Place by Leith Links)!?
Nonsense, no-one ever threw me out! But if you don't feel able to mix it with Edinburgh's most nubile talent, then you should go the complete opposite end of the spectrum and head off to The Marksman on Duke Street - opposite ScotMid by Leith Links. Officially Britain's least glamorous drinking den.
If I was blessed with superb footballing talent, I'd want to play first team football for every second of the short ten years I'd have at the top of the game.
I've never emphathised with footballers' willingness, nay falling-over-themselves-eagerness, to move to clubs already so overstuffed...
Should be "beaten". But part of the problem is that the verb 'got' or 'get' is also redundant here. Correct usage is:
"If we are beaten in this game" and "When Palace were beaten that helped us"
School over for the day.
Snow Patrol are v.good - the new album (which I bought last autumn, the version coming out next week is a reissue with 2 bonus tracks) is great, a good return to form. I'd recommend you also track down their debut, Music for Polarbears, but skip their second (When it's all over we still have to...
The rearranged York City game in 96, after the original one was abandoned. Mid morning on a Tuesday with about 1000 people, from what I remember. Most involved person in the North Stand being a Carlisle Utd fan desperate for us to win. (Or lose, I can't recall. But the result was very important...
Born nearest: Vancouver Whitecaps. And even that was a ferry ride away. Don't think Vancouver Island had much a 'soccer' league in 1967, it were all chipmunks and pine trees back then...
Now live nearest: Probably just Brentford, though QPR/Fulham almost as close.
Work nearest: Arsenal, I...
