Must confess to a slight sense of agreement.
In the past couple of weeks I have written dozens of letters, went to the flowers protest, gathered friends and family across the UK into the postcard campaign and so on, and feel they've done a great job in:
- letting JP know the strength of...
Rubbish. Do you really want yet another Man Utd Arsenal final? Yawn yawn yawn. I think it'd be bloody great if, say, Tranmere get there. OK they'd probably get tonked on the day, but at least someone other than the usual 3 or 4 has made it to a final. Brings a bit of romance back to the cup -...
Creme Brulee.
The French have single-handedly (ho ho) made yacht racing what it is today. Most of the world's best single-handed yachtsmen and women are French, most of the most important races are French organised, run and sponsored. As someone who loves this sport, I gotta thank 'em for that...
Never away, but had to watch the Liverpool cup replay at the Goldstone (the one we lost 3-2 in extra time) amongst the Scousers. Wasn't able to get a home ticket in time.
One of the entries in that Crap Towns book was by me! I wrote about Bexhill on Sea, and was pretty chuffed to see it published. Even if they did cut half of it out for space reasons.
But Simster, surely the Os have such a magnificent, stonking, thumping goal difference (-6, bring it ON) compared to the team in seventh (Huddersfield's woeful +7, pah), that that gap is more like, ah, um, 13 points in practice?
Which is NOTHING, to those wildly successful legends from Leyton...
How did Orient get on at the weekend then Twatty? Is your awe-inspiring rocket-propelled "play-offs here we come" march gathering even more momentum? I guess the gap must be closing daily by now, with the rest of Div 3 quaking in their boots at the inexorabel rise and rise of the mighty reds...
Announcement is that the creditors have withdrawn their support for the standstill agreement, but negotiations with consortium continue. Neither one thing nor the other then.
I neither hate nor love them, I just think they're ok. To be honest, i only bought the first album all those years ago because I was looking for Snowpony in the CD racks. Now there IS a band worth checking out - ex-members of My Bloody Valentine and Stereolab. Only did two CDs, but both very good.
It's not bad at all, bought it last autumn when it first came out and would agree it's a grower. Gentler than their likeable debut (Music for Polarbears) and much better than their second (When It's All Over We Still Have To Clear Up) which I didn't like very much.
Do I win the award for smug...
The ignorance is appalling. If I have one more "So why d'you sell your old ground then?" comment I'll explode.
How I long for the day when we can put all this behind us and just play football in our own ground.
Why is this thread higher up the page than any pix of the sex goddess that is Nadine Coyle? Personally the only reason I came to NSC in the first place is because I thought it stood for Nadine Shaggable Coyle.
Lost in Translation my fave, would like a quirky, non-mainstream film to do it.
Master and Commander was an entertaining enough two hours, but not really Oscar-winning.
But nothing is going to stop the LOTR bandwagon, must be odds-on to win this by a mile. Can't see anything else happening.
