Full national lockdown (not education) 4/11 - 1/12 possible

I think there is more cars on the road at the moment because many people are avoiding public transport, a few people I know used to get the bus to work because of parking issues but both are now driving to work. Buses at the moment aside from school times are absolutely dead. As an aside, where...

Full national lockdown (not education) 4/11 - 1/12 possible

Possibly so, there seems to be massive mixed messages we have yesterday Boris saying it’s a massive step forward and Hancock saying millions could be vaccinated in December, then today we have Boris sounding fairly downbeat about prospects. Particularly strange for a man who has previously...

Boris saying the vaccines aren’t the golden bullet to beat the virus, then what is then? His and his bozos rhetoric for the start has been to kick the problem down the road with restrictions until there is a vaccine and he now tells us the vaccine ISN'T the ‘golden bullet’ ??? I’ve lost all...

ALL of those current projections bar the Warwick are already miles wrong, I’m sure all of these models were based on the infection rate continuing to increase as well, which clearly hasn’t happened. I was sceptical and against local lockdowns in many areas to be honest but I must say looking at...

:lolol: Restrictions won’t be eased on the 2nd December, look how long it took cases to come down last time and that was with great weather outdoors and schools shut.

R rate is more greatly affected when cases are fewer and so saying an R rate is higher in a certain region than another is a pointless comparison. If a city has 10 cases one week and then 30 cases the next it’s R rate would be higher than a city that had 10000 cases and then 20000 the next.

R rate means absolutely nothing. Why would you lockdown areas that have very low rates of infections the same as those that have high rates? ??? For example London is still fairing quite well, with no massive spikes in cases like the NW. Why lockdown London just because Liverpool has become...

Yep, only 39 of today’s 278 (14%) announced deaths were in the south of England.

Arguments about lockdown aside, What a horrific winter this is going to be, no family Christmas, can’t visit each other’s houses, freezing cold outside, wind and rain, dark nights, restaurants/bars and leisure closed etc, its so bleak. It was hard enough in April/May when we had nice daylight...

Hospitals across the majority of the U.K. are at normal capacity or below capacity - the north are struggling. False positives are a real issue when you are doing 300000 tests a day With COVID/Of COVID - I’m pretty sure everyone would like to know how many people actually died of the virus...

If you’re going to lock everyone up and make the vulnerable stay home again anyway, why treat those who have a 0.01% chance of dying with the virus the same as people who have a 5% fatality rate? If we lock down, those vulnerable people will in all likelihood have to do some degree of shielding...

Full national lockdown (not education) 4/11 - 1/12 possible

If a full lockdown does happen, it will depend a lot on financial aspects. People won’t be anywhere near as well off as the first lockdown this time as many have been made redundant after furlough and hundreds of thousands more have lost jobs, so I would guess there will be a lot more unrest...

Ready for civil unrest and carnage to ensue as has been happening in France and Spain. Wonderful.
