So I'm dog sitting for a neighbour I know a little. 4-1030pm. Taken the dog out for a 2.5 hour walk and ball play in the puppy park.
"Help yourself to anything, have a glass of wine or a g&t. There's steak in the fridge for you to cook".

Netflix is a real treat for me (watching Rebel Ridge).

Lined these up as some tasters. Having an Nespresso first. Probably draw the line at that. Maybe.

Have far have you gone, when house sitting?

2.5 hours is too long if anything. Fill ya boots 100%.
Depends how old and energetic the dog is and if he meant added up or in one go.

I take my three year old cockapoo out for 90 mins in the morning and an hour in the evening. Buif it’s a 12 year old Westie then you can probably ease up!

I think the goodies are there as a thank you btw.

Yes with our pup a few years back the dog trainer came for a home visit and was very clear that 45 min walk a day was too much and just burning cals and getting them into bad habits / expectations and insisted we lower it to 30mins. Granted, that’s one persons opinion of course. But either way 2.5 hours is very generous for a dog sitter - if I had someone doing that at 4pm I’d have made sure dog was walked first too. So def take the thank yous. Or give the dog the steak 🤣

The 2.5 hours included a mid way sit down and coffee with a mate.
Interestingly the devil on my shoulder is wanting 3-4 more shots and a couple more coffees and a mooch around.
But my good side is winning, at the moment, as I sit with the dog on the sofa, who is farting away happily.
We didn't discuss money, she asked I offered. Hoping for a tip of some kind tbh.

I had the same from dog experts when mine was a puppy. His recall was terrible so we fitted a tracker. He goes to a dog day care on Wednesdays when we’re mostly in the office and they have outside space where he can play with other dogs.

The first time he came back we downloaded the tracker data to make sure they were kosher at day care and he’d racked up five hours exercise and 11 miles 😂😂

You’re a good man / women then mate - fair play to you.

Your neighbour is probably happy to have someone she can trust looking after her dog and house, obviously have a drink if she has offered but I personally wouldn’t go overboard

You do realise that the steak is for the dog, NOT for you.

We are currently dog/house sitting for our daughter and family while they are in Disneyland.
They only moved into this house in July. So far we have put the TV on the wall, fixed a broken roller-blind, put up a curtain pole & new curtains, put up pictures and mirrors, sorted the partially blocked U-bends🤢, put up outside deck lights and a few more bits & pieces.
We’ve nearly finished the list…………😂

Did you remember to feed the dog?

Have you checked for doggy cams or hidden cameras even. You might be being surveilled.

Also don't rule out invisible thread taped across doorways to bedrooms etc because if she sees it's broken when she gets back she'll know which rooms you've been snooping in.
