Blixa and the boys superb Wednesday...A drill, shopping trolly, numerous pipes and curly metal things all bashed, yet it was the slow numbers esp Grazer Damm and How Did I Die that hit home for me...

Went to see Ride at Chalk last night. Utterly superb and I was delighted that the new album was so prominent in the set as it is an absolute belter. The gig will always be better than the game.
Tut tut! I noted the clash, but was at the Amex.

Just spotted that Interlaker, the new venture of former Lonely The Brave vocalist David Jakes are playing the Hope and Ruin tomorrow night. That's my kick off to the weekend sorted, the singles and pre-released album tracks bear all the melodic epic goodness of the first two LtB albums.

Confidence Man show at Chalk just announced. Tickets on sale tomorrow. Clashing with Bill Ryder Jones for me otherwise I’d be all over that.
Saw them there early Summer and it was brilliant- a pre Glastonbury warm up. It’s not really the type of music I would listen to but I find them very entertaining.

Gong to see Lankum perform their current acclaimed album on Monday, in its entirety. I’m not a huge fan but a friend had a spare to thought I’d go. Live music does often change my perception so let’s see

I, on the other hand, am an enormous fan of False Lankum, and am yet to see it live. I'd want it to be incredibly live and, if so, it'd have the kind of effects you get at, eg, Godspeed gigs

It’s at a wonderful old school theater as well, Das Theater des Westens. It usually hosts musicals for old timers but in between musical runs they host one off gigs; I saw Oneohtrix Point Never earlier in the year. I’ll report back.

Talking of God Speed, I’m seeing them again in October.

Sounds ideal. It'll be awesome.
