As I have a complete adversion to waiting hours for a train back, I am looking at going to the Forest game on a motor bike. Reserach suggests that parking is free - where do you leav ethe helmet, or are you allowed to take it into the ground?

I don't think adversion is a word, but there is a round in I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue where Jack Dee must answer In My Pants to every question. Is this a future question for the show?

Amex Stadium EntranceThere are four reception areas at the stadium, at the North, South, East and West sides of the ground. Bags over the size of A4 paper and motorcycle helmets will need to be deposited in our bag drop facility outside the South East entrance at a cost of £5

Not disputing this, but I am sure then when I walked past this on Saturday, it was £7.50....I may have been mistaken though.

Yes do ride your bike to the Amex. Free parking and no waiting, lovely.

You used to be able to leave your helmet with the stewards at the entrance turnstiles, but this is discouraged now they have the bag drop. Fortunately I now ride a 350 Forza, which takes two helmets under the seat (and yes this was a factor in choosing the bike).

If its dry, then why not chain your helmet up to the bike? Saves a few £ but more importantly avoids another queue for the bag drop. If its wet, then you can buy helmet storage bags which have a clever tunnel thingy which still keeps it dry but allows you to chain to bike. Or you could be a cheapskate and use a plastic bag!

You can park for free but they won't let you take your helmet into the Stadium you'll have to pay £7.50 at the bag storage which you should walk past if walking down from the coach park.

There was a very long queue to collect bags Saturday. Yes, it is easier to go by bike but I'd chain your helmet to the bike. What's the chances of a thief with bolt cutters coming along?
Mmm, maybe put your helmet in the bag drop.

When I took my motorbike to the pre season friendly it had gone up to £8 to leave a helmet.

Whilst free motorcycle parking is excellent, £7.50 or £8 to store a helmet is very expensive (although perhaps not in comparison to the price of the rancid burgers). As others have suggested, if you fave a full face helmet, use a long chain lock and lock the helmet to your bike. I also use a waterproof helmet bag.

Oxford do a combined lock and lid bag for about £25.

Don't take other NSCers with you then, they're a financial liability at best.

I've waltzed into games with a skid lid before now and no ones batted an eye lid . . . Then got stopped and refused in 1901, so turned 180 and walked in via the opposite turnstiles no problem.

the last 2-3 years the clubs clearly seen another added matchday congestion/complication opportunity with a nominal revenue stream and just couldn't resist.

Unless things have changed, any revenue from the bag drop goes into the Albion Foundation (formerly AITC) so the club aren't making money from this.
