What is the most heartbreaking film you have ever seen ? There are many but this stands on it's own. Bloody destroyed me and everyone that has ever seen it, He went back to the station every day for 9 years for his master to come home, he never did due to his passing

The arse end of Hangleton
Schindler's List - only film that I've come out of the cinema after watching and been utterly depressed about the state of human kind.

Well I've grown up with Swedish film meaning if you see a kid or a dog you know it'll be dead within five minutes. It is a little bit desensitising; the only thing in a movie that can move me now is portrayals of relief or happyness. Can't think of any great example unfortunately.

Must admit I refused to watch War Horse and films that feature dogs (or other pets) unless I know in advance they make it to the final credits.

Ring of Bright Water
Watership Down
Black Beauty
Marley and Me
Eight Below
Kes

I am the archetypal Lassie sop, the very type for whom the series were made - who needs the happy ever after

Even the Red Balloon had me blink back tears and that had no animals in it at all.

Love Story, Les Parapluies de Cherbourg, Schindler’s List, The Green Mile and weird one, but 2/3rds of Toy Story 3 are harrowing.

The first ten minutes of Up.

I thought Love Story was a decent film and The Champ great acting from the boy at the end

City Lights (Chaplin) -- I tear up at the end every time. There. Can. Be. NO. Resolution. 💔

Sophie's Choice -- I've only watched it once -- as a young, carefree and single 20-something -- and I refuse to watch it ever again -- as a parent of 4 children. 😭
