Must admit I was incensed by this, BUT is it just possible it wasn't meant to be read this way and was actually meant as a compliment with some understanding of all our troubles, I'm baffled ??

Very odd indeed.
Their reaction on there, has at least restored a bit of faith in them. At least they're not all morons.

Surely the first rule of a good insult banner is that everyone should understand immmediately exactly what it means. I'm still none the wiser.
Then, ideally, the people/inbreds making the point would win the game. Or at least get a draw. Or maybe, say, only a two-goal beating. Something to hang your banner on.
I was very confused by this stage, but wasn't it also using a Mastercard ad slogan as the basis for its Amex dig?
If I was an Ipswich fan, I'd have a quiet word with whoever did it, and urge them not to do it again - especially at Norwich in the future.

The second banner was NOTOEPP, and is a valid point. The problem with the first, is that no-one, even their fans seem to understand what it was meant to mean. It seems offensive at first sight, and it wound us up to create a much better atmosphere than was likely for a game against a team that don't mean much to us either way.
Thinking about it now, though, as an incorrect play on the Mastercard advert, was it meant to be funny rather than offensive? We've all got the hump because of our history and the struggle for Falmer, but some of their fans don't seem to understand why we are upset. It doesn't seem clear if it was aimed to wind us up, or just as a joke that went wrong...

Funny bunch that lot. As a Suffolk dweller, bloody loads of them, who never mentioned football before May, now loudly and proudly claim to be a “lifelong Town fan, mate”. They also seem to have a beef with us that none of them can explain and I’ve never been aware of.
I like and rate Kieran McKenna but I hope we give them a bloody good hiding on Saturday otherwise my life will be unbearable for a while.
