What would happen if a local found him and shot him dead ?
And don’t be flippant ….
If I use a flip phone (mobile) is that flippant?

Truly, if this guy, Card, was threatening to use his gun again and was shot dead the person who shot Card would become a national hero for about a week.

Just checked my supply of ' thoughts and prayers ' for US gun massacres and it's tragically empty.

Really, mine is also, and these are my fellow countrymen getting killed. I really hope (and PRAY!) that the politicians will eventually get past the minority making their own rules and stop electing crazies.

A man suspected of killing 18 people in a shooting in Maine has been found dead after a three-day manhunt, police say.
Robert Card, 40, was found dead from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound, Maine Commissioner of Public Safety Michael Sauschuck said.

Interesting article about compensation levels in terrorist attacks but contained this which I was unaware of, and shows how chuffed the situation is

"Gun-makers are legally protected from being sued in the US if their guns are used in a mass shooting, but nightclub and hotel owners are not."

Absurd.

A rather strange cartoon in today’s guardian.

In response to today’s school shooting in the U.S.

I don’t find it offensive. Just a rather odd thing to make into quite a frivolous cartoon.

Or am I missing something?

Development in the most recent case is that the 14 year old shooter was given an assault rifle for Christmas by his parents.

Odd, because as the father of a 14 year old myself, I really don’t remember that being on his list last year. It was mostly clothes. I must be doing something wrong.

I am not so sure, he did ask for a black Kevlar hoodie, gloves, matching combat pants, boots and a hunting knife.

....and the father has now been charged on multiple counts. Good.

I don't find it odd really, it's just saying the same as we say on here, that gun crime in the US isn't treated seriously.

Great Post on Twitter just now, pictures of JD Vance on a stage surrounded by plates of bulletproof Glass and security men telling an audience that the Right to Bear Arms will cause the occasional tragedy. !

If I was going to apply some pretentious reasoning to it I'd suggest it's making a statement about how gun crime is as culturally significant to American society as The Simpsons.
